CITS1001 Object-oriented Programming and Software Eng

The final exam will be held in the June exam period. Details of the exam schedule will be released through studentConnect. The exam is worth 60% of the total mark for the unit, and it examines all of the material discussed in all parts of the unit: lectures, labs, projects, workshops, and the text book chapters listed on the lectures page.

Practical Details:

  • The exam will last 120 minutes. It will comprise eight questions of the same type as the recent exams, except there will be no MCQ section.
  • All questions should be answered.
  • Write your answers in the spaces provided on the question sheet. No other paper will be accepted for the submission of answers.
  • No books, notes, calculators, or other assistance will be allowed.
  • Follow all instructions from the invigilators.


Exam structure

The eight questions will fit into the following types. You might be asked to

  • write simple Java classes;
  • write Java methods manipulating data of various types;
  • write Java methods displaying shapes on a canvas;
  • trace the operation of Java methods; and/or
  • explain the theory or operation of Java concepts.

Resources:

During the period 2008-14, the exam paper also had an MCQ section. Since 2015 there has been no MCQ section.

The previous exams will be reviewed near the end of semester. You will get the best value from this if you attempt the questions beforehand.
