UWAttend - Sign in/out app
We are currently using a App developed by Dr. Keating to sign students into GENG2000. This is used to track signin and signout, participation, grading and any issues that pop up. Unfortunately the app only works on Android - we want to migrate to a Web-App to allow support for any platform. Like to have would be:

Use of internal Calista data bases for enrolment data (currently using external google sheets)

Linking of student ID to barcodes on student cards to allow faster sign using (by scanning the barcode) - this requires an investigation and understanding of the library database system (ATLAS)

Option to support a larger number of units

Options to support grading and consent for photographs

Simple CSV style saved database allowing unit coordinators to easily export the data
Data exchnaged between the webapp and the data base needs to consider the use of AES encription to ensure the integritiy of the information as well as soem form of CRC checks.
Local data should be kept on the device used to sign in/out in case of periodic loss of internet - synchronisation of data between local and remote source needs to be considered
A operation manual and video of the existing Android App is available as the starting point for the design
