Training and support for HDR students at time of need

Research students (enrolled in doctorates and research masters) are a diverse group of students who can enrol at any time of the year, can move between full-time and part-time enrolment, may suspend their studies and can be located off campus.

We currently send reminders to all students about upcoming events but we do not tailor these messages to the specific requirements of each student.

Reminding students about GRS training (both online and in person) would ideally take into account what course they are enrolled in, where they are located, when they commenced, whether they are full-time or part-time and whether they have suspended for any period of time.

We would like to develop an app where students input these parameters and reminders are sent to them accordingly. We would like to intersperse these reminders with stage-specific messages about wellbeing, support, and common challenges.

We have mapped a program of reminders and messages for the first year of full-time on-campus doctoral candidates (including potential images and animations). This map could be adapted to all other permutations of candidature.
