Crowdsourced Image Labelling Platform

Project Proposal

We are looking to build a crowdsourced image labelling platform to create training data for an image classification model. The platform will be used by our exploration geologists, who will use their domain knowledge to label images found in geological reports. The platform needs to serve the images and labels, record the responses, and determine if a consensus has been reached. The platform should have minimal disruption to their primary day-to-day work.

Additional Scope

To encourage participation, we can introduce gamification elements such leaderboards. Labelling images is not the primary job of the geologists, so we hope these features will provide additional motivation.

Where geologists may disagree on which labels to assign, we can integrate a discussion forum for geologists to discuss and debate their ideas. This will also provide a learning opportunity for junior geologist.
