Further development of a mySQL/Python-based management system to support DNA-based commercial laboratory testing DNA-laboratory management system

Genotyping Australia is a Perth-based company specialising in the provision of DNA-based analytical laboratory services to a wide range of clients.

The Company offers a wide range of DNA-based services which include Covid-19 screening of FIFO workers for the oil and gas sector, pathogen screening for aquaculture businesses, and the genetic typing of cattle and sheep to support the agricultural sector in maximising their breeding programs and competitiveness.

Our laboratory currently utilises a basic in-house laboratory management system based upon a mySQL database/Python interface in order to lodge, and track completion of tasks and to generate reports for our clients.

We are seeking to add additional functionality to this system via development of one or more of the following modules:

Our current management system has been developed by our own in-house developer (Dr Mark Castalanelli) who will be available to support and guide the project to its completion.

Genotyping Australia has undergone a recent expansion which has led to the establishment of a number of laboratories operating in remote communities as well as expansion of our central laboratory which is based in the Medical Research Foundation building adjoining Royal Perth Hospital in central Perth.

We are seeking to develop an improved management system to improve the experience of our stakeholders in interacting with the laboratory, to improve efficiency and connectivity between our remote laboratories and to streamline our workflows and issuing of results.
