UWAHS Campus Walk - with Oral Histories

Create an App using: - Excerpts from the UWAHS Oral Histories Collection (interesting anecdotes about particular places) - Map showing the locations (with GPS coordinates) - GPS signalling to coordinate the device with the Map - Graphics and text to accompany the Map and Excerpts - Excel spreadsheet listing each Oral History and the Excerpt/s used, the author and the date/period applicable. The aim of the App is to allow a person to walk around the Crawley Campus and using their mobile device, hear people from the past describe what happened at that location when they were on campus. If the listener wants to hear more, they can easily link back to the UWAHS Oral History Portal to hear the full oral history. (The full collection of Oral Histories available can be found at: https://www.web.uwa.edu.au/uwahs/oral-histories.)

Each location associated with an Oral History excerpt is shown on the Map so a person can choose their path, and see the extent of what s covered by the App. It also allows the user to orientate themselves to the Campus and where key buildings are on campus (e.g. Winthrop Hall, Arts Building, Reid Library, Guild Buildings, etc). The GPS signalling allows them to show their own location on the Map, and the direction to take to reach the next location of interest.
