Like Matter Finder
Legal cases are referred to as "matters".
The team would assist legal firm Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) develop the concept of a "like matter" finder that can take a variety of structured and unstructured inputs to identify past matters that are similar in nature to a new matter being considered.
This data could be used to provide Partners with effort estimations, resource profile, profitability, outcomes of similar matters and other data analytics.
This project would only plan for or simulate integration and not require access to HSF data.
The aim is to identify what hurdles need to be addressed, the type of technologies involved and if possible develop a proof of concept.
