CITS1001 Mid-semester Test 2014: Information
Updated 4 April 2014
See below for solutions to the 2014 tests. Your answer sheets are available from csmarks.
The midterm test will be 35 minutes with fifteen (15) multiple choice questions. For each question,
select the best answer from the choices available.
Protocol
The protocol for the test is described
here. Make
sure you are familiar with this.
Venue
The test will be conducted in TWO venues:
- Webb Lecture Theatre (in Geology near the CSSE building)
for students whose surnames
start with A to D inclusive;
(Capacity: 95)
- Ross Lecture Theatre
for students whose surnames start with E to Z inclusive;
(Capacity: 252)
The test venues are not
ideal and you will be sitting close to other students. Accordingly
the test papers will be constructed so that you will all be presented
with the same questions but the multiple choice answers for each question will
be presented in a different order. So ... if the person next to
you has very different answers to you do not panic (and stop trying to look!)
Important:
- You will have 35 minutes to complete the test. Please arrive early so that all of you can be seated before the test starts. We need to collect all answer scripts at the end of the test time
as there are other lectures scheduled in these venues.
You will not get any extra time if you arrive late.
- Bring a pencil and an eraser with you. Use a pencil to answer the questions.
- You will be provided with a question paper and an answer sheet like this one.
You must fill in your student number correctly, otherwise you may not get any marks.
- Write your name clearly on both the question book and the answer sheet.
- Fill in answers for questions 1-15 on the computer-readable answer sheet.
- At the end of the test your will hand in both the (one page) answer sheet and the question paper.
Material Covered
The test will cover the following material:
-
Lecture Material
Anything covered in the lectures and workshop from weeks 1 to 4 inclusive. The notes
handed out summarise the bulk of the course content, with details
given in the corresponding text book chapters.
Anything that is discussed verbally in the lectures is also
deemed to be part of the course. If you have missed any
lectures, then they have (almost) all been audio recorded and are
available from Echo via a link on the unit web page.
-
Laboratory Work
Anything covered in any of the laboratory sessions
-
help1001
Any questions and/or answers raised in the help1001 forum,
